Federal Employee Voice - Veterans Affairs Employee Viewpoint Survey

The administration canceled the survey to suppress it. Here’s how we’re amplifying the Federal Employee Voice

Your voice matters. Take the new 2025 Employee Viewpoint Survey created by AFGE Local 17:

The Federal Employee Voice Won't Be Silenced

For years, the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) has been more than just a questionnaire. It has been our one guaranteed, official channel to speak truth to power—a yearly opportunity to ensure the federal employee voice was heard. It’s our tool for demanding a better, more effective government. This year, the Trump Administration has taken that tool away.

In a move as cowardly as it is predictable, they have canceled the 2025 FEVS. Let’s be clear about what this is: a deliberate and unprecedented attempt to silence the federal employee voice. After months of attacking our rights, undermining our work, and demonizing our service, the administration knows exactly what a survey of its employees would reveal: that morale is in crisis, that mismanagement is rampant, and that the federal workforce is tired of being treated with contempt. They knew the results would be damning, so they decided to eliminate the survey altogether.  They thought they could erase our voices. They were wrong.

Where the administration has chosen silence, your union has chosen to fight back. In a new initiative, AFGE Local 17 has stepped into the void left by this administration’s failure of leadership. We have recreated the survey—using the same questions from the last FEVS plus additional ones—to ensure that your federal employee voice is not lost and that your perspective is heard. This is not a government survey. This is your union giving you back the platform that was taken from you.

Completing this survey is the single most powerful thing you can do right now to fight back against the attempt to render us invisible. Every single response adds to a collective voice they cannot ignore. We will ensure the results are compiled, analyzed, and seen by members of Congress, the media, and the public. We will make sure they hear what they were so desperate to avoid.

This is what a union does. We protect the rights and amplify the voices of our members. Initiatives like this â€“ fielding a comprehensive, nationwide survey â€“ require significant resources. If you believe in this work, if you believe that every federal employee voice must be heard, and if you want to be part of a movement that will always fight for you, then we ask you to stand with us.

Join AFGE Local 17 today. Your membership directly funds the fight to protect our jobs, our rights, and our collective voice. Together, we are a force they can never truly silence.
