How to Correct Your BUS Code if You’ve Returned to a VACO Office (VA Employees)

How to Correct Your BUS Code if You’ve Returned to a VACO Office

Are you a 7777 employee who is now reporting to a VACO office (810/811 Vermont, 425 I Street, Landover, MD warehouse, etc. ) because they have been ordered to return to the office?  If so, your BUS code (Box 37 of your SF-50) should be updated to indicate that you are part of AFGE’s bargaining unit!  Although Secretary Collins and President Trump have illegally suspended collective bargaining at VA, AFGE is continuing to fight on your behalf in court.  To make sure that you are part of any court wins, it’s essential that your BUS code be correct.  And, if you’re physically working from a VACO office and were coded 7777, you should now be coded 1272 or 1276.

In order to do this, you should submit an HR ticket to your HR servicing agency asking that your BUS code be updated, since you are now at VACO.  Here’s how you can do it:

From your VA computer, go to:  https://dvagov.sharepoint.com.  Once there, follow the instructions below based on what administration or staff office you work for:

Administration / Staff Office

VHA

  1. ‎Go to https://dvagov.sharepoint.com and search for VHA HR HUB in the search bar.  The first result should look like this:

Click on the VHA HR Hub link.

2. It should bring up multiple tiles.  Click on this one:

3. Click through and select VACO as your region. Then click on this tile:

This will take you to another system. Submit a ticket asking that your BUS code be updated to reflect inclusionAFGE’s bargaining unit (1272 or 1276) since you have been ordered back to the office and are currently working at VACO.

4. Once you click on the Employee/Labor Relations Consult link, it will take you to a page to fill out a ticket with the issue.  Ask that your BUS code be updated to 1272 or 1276, since you are now working from the office at VACO.  You can attach any documents that support this, including emails from your supervisor or memos ordering you back to the office.

This will take you to a window to submit a ticket.
