According to an article from Federal News Network, VBA is looking to hire thousands of employees to speed up benefits claims processing. It states that the Veterans Benefits Administration will hire “1,900 employees in the first half of fiscal 2023”. Acting Undersecretary for Benefits, Josh Jacobs said, “The bottom line is we want to send a message to veterans that we’re ready. We’re excited to implement the PACT Act and we want you to apply now so that we can deliver the care and benefits that you deserve and have earned.”

VBA plans to hire another nearly 2,500 employees by the end of Fiscal 2023 and will be hosting “a national hiring event in early February to interview and onboard more employees.” VBA is also focused on training current and future employees in PACT Act processing.
